Kanji Self Test - How many do you know? - phauna - 2008-06-28 Here's a test which requires you to check off words you can read in kanji to give you a rough estimate of the number of kanji you 'know'. I have almost 700 unique kanji in my sentences in Anki, and then several hundred more in words in Mnemosyne. Not nearly enough, but I'm working on it. Pretty fun test, but I'm not convinced that this is very accurate. Personally I think that I've only "mastered" meaning and readings for around 150-200 kanji. It's especially apparent when I play my 漢字練習 gbds game, in which I'm currently struggling through 3rd grade. I learned the 518 kanji from the two MNN books, but I also have 1532 mature cards and 1018 young cards on the Core 2k/6k Vocabulary and Sentences deck.
