"Thanksgiving" Primitive - lazar - 2008-06-05 It's between frame 357/358, I can't find this primitive in the WWWJDIC kanji primitive search, why is that? Also when I use my computers IME pad to write the primitive it gives me nothing similar :S "Thanksgiving" Primitive - Savara - 2008-06-05 I don't know about this specific one but, not all Heisig 'primitives' are official primitives/radicals. That might explain it. (But I'm not sure~) "Thanksgiving" Primitive - shaydwyrm - 2008-06-05 That's because it's a primitive (which is a term defined by Heisig), rather than a radical/部首 (which is an official traditional component of a character). The WWWJDIC search is based on radicals, although they have tinkered with the list a bit to make the components more intuitive. You can search for the thanksgiving primitive by combining the 立 and 戈 radicals. "Thanksgiving" Primitive - zdude255 - 2008-06-05 shaydwyrm: You're thinking of kazoo. Thanksgiving uses 土 and 戈 I personally prefer the jisho.org radical search. It has a nice AJAX interface. http://jisho.org/kanji/radicals/ "Thanksgiving" Primitive - lazar - 2008-06-05 haha thanks guys, yeah I guess I thought primitives and radicals were the same thing :/ "Thanksgiving" Primitive - shaydwyrm - 2008-06-05 zdude255 Wrote:shaydwyrm: You're thinking of kazoo.
