Translation forums - Dragg - 2008-05-07
I recently discovered a website called http://www.wordreference.com. There are many forums about various languages there, including one for Japanese. They focus almost exclusively on translating short phrases from one language to another (off topic discussions are discouraged). I was wondering if anyone knows of other forums like this which might exist primarily as translation or composition aids.

I know this: http://www.proz.com . It is for professional translators helping each other (among other things), but anyone can post a question regarding the translation of any term in any language combination you can imagine (in the section Kudoz). Members are usually very helpful, and if you have a non-translation question about a language you can post it in the relevant forum. I visit it often, not for japanese though... my level doesn't allow me (yet) to have serious questions about translation

Thanks. That's exactly the type of thing ive been looking for. It looks to be a great resource for when you have a tricky language problem.
