Help with recognizing handwritten characters - rinre - 2016-05-28 Hello everyone! I was wondering if someone is a whiz when it comes to recognizing handwritten characters? A friend of mine bought a picture in China with some calligraphy (Title or artist's signature maybe?). He was told what it means but forgot it ![]() I have only learned Japanese Kanji (RTK1+), and neither me nor my girlfriend (who is japanese) can make sense of this. My girlfriend recognizes the first (upper) handwritten character looks like 林 (also the right side of the upper stamp), for the rest... If anyone can help, I'm grateful for all suggestions! All the best, Rinre RE: Help with recognizing handwritten characters - BellatKoohii - 2016-05-28 From left to right, it's 林風瞑, 風瞑, 林風眠 respectively https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lin_Fengmian https://zh.wikipedia.org/zh/%E6%9E%97%E9%A3%8E%E7%9C%A0 RE: Help with recognizing handwritten characters - rinre - 2016-05-31 Wow, that's great, thanks a lot BellatKoohii! Now when I compare it I can kind of see it (especially the upper left stamp), but without your help as I said, totally clueless My friend will certainly also be very happy, it looks like an important artist! Again, my heartfelt thanks! Rinre |
