Anyone here study at Seigan Japanese Language School or IAY International Academy bef - Ciggies - 2016-04-03

I'm planning to go to Japan to study Japanese for 1.5 yrs and going to either school but I cant find anyone blogging or talk about their life in the school. Unlike Yamasa I know they have musical chairs, video lessons, lessons involve of lots of worksheets, lessons very intense and most important not force JLPT-style. But their tuition fees is kinda steep, so I hope someone would post something relevant to Seigan or IAY's approach.

You will get more out of a bad school by studying the material intensively outside of class than you will get out of a "good" school and poor study habits.

Read reviews online and pick the one you feel matches your personality or pick one that is in a location you would like to explore. The chance that you will have some horrible teacher that you can't learn anything from is horrendously small. (Teachers at these schools have to be a bit passionate about it because its average pay with awful schedules.)

Remember also to factor in cost of accommodation (which some schools provide) when comparing overall costs.

(I went to Yamasa and was happy there, but that was a decade ago now.)

Maybe I should rephrase my question...
