Kobun (Classical Japanese) Resources? - Bokusenou - 2016-03-19 I recently decided that I wanted to learn kobun, after seeing it pop up surprisingly frequently in novels & various media, so I just got to ordering the kobun book mentioned in the "What are you currently reading?" thread, but it always takes a while for things to get here from Japan. In the meantime, I've started looking for other kobun resources. http://www.hello-school.net/haroajapa000top.htm This one is pretty nice for an overview of grammar points. http://people.ucalgary.ca/~xyang/kobun/kobun.html That one's nice because it has interactive quizzes, and covers pronunciation, but it's incomplete and the rest might never be written. Anyone know of other good kobun resources, in Japanese or English? RE: Kobun (Classical Japanese) Resources? - vonPeterhof - 2016-03-19 I learned the basics of Classical Japanese grammar from a Russian book so I'm afraid I can't really recommend any basic resources, but I do know a couple supplementary ones: http://kobun.weblio.jp/ Probably the best known electronic dictionary of Classical Japanese and/or archaisms in general. http://www.ogurasansou.co.jp/site/hyakunin/hyakunin.html A good introduction to the 百人一首 poetry collection, with grammatical and poetic commentary, translations into modern Japanese and background info on the poems and poets. http://www.sainet.or.jp/~eshibuya/ A site that does something similar to the above for 源氏物語. RE: Kobun (Classical Japanese) Resources? - Zgarbas - 2016-03-19 Imabi actually had some really amazing explanations for kobun grammar! Top notch, though not very useful if you don't know bases (get to know the bases!) Thanks to yudantaiteki's thread and chihaya furu the anime, i got crazy into 百人一首.I mostly used this website to get by: http://www.ogurasansou.co.jp RE: Kobun (Classical Japanese) Resources? - Bokusenou - 2016-03-19 Thanks guys! Those look really helpful! <3 I just made a cheat sheet of all the bases, and made Anki cards for every one. Let me know if anyone thinks of any others! Edit: Found out that there's a really nice free 古文 quiz app for android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.gakkonet.quizbasickobunkanbun Looks like it's on iOS too: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gu-wen-han-wen-gu-wen-dan/id946696486 |
