How to make J-J Sentence cards - Akuto - 2016-03-04 Hi all, I've tried searching (here and a few other places) but couldn't really find anything that clarified what I want to know. I'm making a transition over to J-J sentence cards with a Japanese definition of the word I don't know on the back side of the Anki card but I'm a little confused about what exactly to put. Say, for example, the word I don't know is 見る: When I go to the goo dictionary the definition looks like this: Quote: This is obviously excessive to include on the back of one card. Also, it gives numerous different definitions of the word so I was thinking perhaps that each definition needed it's own card. Would that be a fair assessment? I.e. is it common practice when finding a new word to look in the dictionary and make a card for each definition with the example sentence given in the definition on the front and the definition on the back? In the case of 見る that would entail making 12 cards. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I don't want to wade into J-J sentences without as much information about how to maximise the benefit as possible. RE: How to make J-J Sentence cards - Vempele - 2016-03-04 Only make cards for the meanings you've actually seen (or reasonably expect to see in the future). And whatever else you do, don't make a card for #11 - the example sentence isn't even modern Japanese! (Okay, you can make a card for it if you're planning to read the Tale of Genji). Is there some program to extract only specific definitions from an EPWING file or something? I'm using EPwing2Anki with 研究社 (mainly for the abundance of example sentences, really) for main deck, but mainly I just try and mentally remember which meanings I saw in the wild and scroll down to them whenever I get to the card. |
