Has anyone purchased Eijiro for OS X? - jimeux - 2016-02-06 I use alc.co.jp a lot when translating, but it turns out there's a version of Eijiro that works with the built-in Mac dictionary (available here). The site looks horrific though, and goes directly to a payment screen (through Gumroad). I'm wondering if anyone here has purchased this and what they think of the product itself. RE: Has anyone purchased Eijiro for OS X? - Bokusenou - 2016-02-06 I don't know anything about it, but it looks like it has a sample file containing only the "A" and "B" entries, to test it out with: https://tecorin.sakura.ne.jp/osx/demo/Eijiro.dictionary.zip If I was thinking about buying it, I would definitely test out the sample file first. I didn't realise those links were hiding. I tried out the sample, and it seems pretty decent. It's certainly much more convenient than alc.co.jp, and you can activate the 読み for Japanese words, which is a feature alc doesn't have. In terms of negatives, the default text styles are terrible, but it is possible to modify them with CSS and a little trial and error. RE: Has anyone purchased Eijiro for OS X? - scooter1 - 2016-02-06 I use a "customized" Eijiro version from the following site: http://japaneselanguagetools.com/docs/Eijiro.html I have it running principally on osx (EBMac) and the iphone (EBPocket). The default kanji readings are bracketed after the word in EB; I find furigana text above the kanji so much easier but have never found a way to do that |
