Teaching Remembering the Kanji at a Community Center - Nukemarine - 2008-04-14 Had an idea that I'm toying with doing. I've only got 8 months or so left in Japan, but from September to December I won't be going underway on any cruises therefore can have a steady schedule for the following. I'm thinking of volunteering my time at the community center on base (in Yokosuka) to teach Kanji via RTK. The only rough idea in making it happen is I'll do it twice a week, for an hour each time. I'll make sure it's advertised as only Recognizing and Writing of the kanji (not calligraphy). Obviously, Yokosuka has a large US population (25,000 people) so there's bound to be an interest. However, I don't want to mess it up either. What are some resources I should look into to pull this off. Seeing that I have 3 to 4 months lead time, I want to be as prepared as needed. Teaching Remembering the Kanji at a Community Center - mairov - 2008-04-14 I believe it is possible to teach RTK if the students work as a group, creating and sharing stories. It could works in a way similar to this website. Teaching Remembering the Kanji at a Community Center - Floatingweed5 - 2008-04-14 Well there's already a group of students using this website in conjunction with a formal classroom-based study course. How about you get some feedback from them, or email their teacher for some advice... Link here... http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=1152 |
