Question about ANKI and repetition interval - Chrisss - 2016-01-17

I'm using ANKI to study japanese vocabulary, but I'm not sure I'm using ANKI correctly.

When you are reviewing vocabulary through ANKI you get 4 bars; Again, Hard, Good and Easy. Under each one of them a different time comes up, usually something like; 10 minutes, 14 days, 1 month and 2 months.

The thing I'm wondering is, why is that everytime I click the 10 minute buttion, the word actually comes up again after 10 minutes, but when I click the 1 month button the word still comes up as a review the day after a session?

Are words supposed to come up more often than the time actually indicates?

If you press the 1 month button the word will come up again 1 month later, and not after a day :/ This is strange...
could you post here your setting for your deck (the gearwheel icon, then options > reviews (and also new cards)

I don't think looking at the settings will help, there's no setting that will make 30 days into 1 day.

I suspect the review data is being lost and it's coming up a day later because Anki doesn't know it was already reviewed and passed. That could happen several ways - syncing your devices in the wrong order, accidentally using the 'undo' shortcut, some kind of permission problem on the drive so that you're not actually saving, maybe some others I'm not thinking of.

Are you sure you aren't using Anki in "cram" mode?
