changing RSH keywords to RTK keywords? - Mesqueeb - 2010-09-14 Hi, I've done RTK, and now I am doing RSH. Though I get annoyed by kanji with technically the same meaning only a slight different keyword. e.g. 告 is Revelation in RTK and to Declare in RSH. I know I'll be changing the keywords in chinese ones anyway in a few months, and really, it has the same connotation right? Thus I was wondering if it'd be alright to change keywords like those to the RTK keyword? Or are there obvious reasons why I should not? (or how about the RTK keyword in brackets behind it?) thanks! -Mesqueeb edit: another example would be 改 to alter (reform) changing RSH keywords to RTK keywords? - iSoron - 2010-09-14 Mesqueeb Wrote:Thus I was wondering if it'd be alright to change keywords like those to the RTK keyword? Why don't you just skip these characters? You already know them. changing RSH keywords to RTK keywords? - liosama - 2010-09-14 For really similar keywords, I just put the RTK keyword in brackets. For stuff that is far off, but still has some connotations of the RTK keyword, I still put the RTK in brackets, for everything else, I use pure RTH keywords. For grammar keywords, I'm aiming to just rote learn the ones I continue to fail. changing RSH keywords to RTK keywords? - zigmonty - 2010-09-14 Is it just me or are both of those rsh keywords better for japanese too? changing RSH keywords to RTK keywords? - bertoni - 2010-09-14 I had similar problems with keywords, although I'm doing RTH at the moment. I'm using an Anki deck, so I've been redoing the keywords that cause some confusion. Sometimes, I go for the RTK keyword. When the underlying usage of the character is different, I tend to add a new keyword. I often consider just deleting the card, though. I guess I'm too neurotic about cards to do that.I agree that some of the keywords are a better fit for the usage of the character.
changing RSH keywords to RTK keywords? - Mesqueeb - 2010-09-15 I'll be starting Chinese in University in 2 weeks. I want to be done with RSH before that (at this pace which seems that it'll work) and then I am just going to change the hanzi into chinese keywords ASAP. ^^ Btw what should I do if RSH doesn't appear anytime soon?!? I feel a little uncomfortable of the fact of learning hanzi straight in Chinese without a keyword-phase. -Mesqueeb changing RSH keywords to RTK keywords? - ethics_gradient - 2010-10-12 While in general having done one of the Heisig programs makes the others easier, I found it a real pain in the ass when he picked different keywords (often only slightly different in terms of actual meaning) between RtK and RtH. For the last 500 characters of RtK, I went through with both books and cross-referenced them, which was fairly tedious. I've still got some holes where interference is causing me to miss cards, but I try to edit those cards as I go. |
