Updating wiki with RTH/RSH info, what do you want to see included? - deathtrap - 2010-07-21 There is a complete lack of anything resembling Remembering Simplified/Traditional Hanzi information on the wiki site. I want to fix this ATROCITY( :p ) ! What would you like to see included? Would you like to keep it strictly for Hanzi, or should I/we expand to include learning Mandarin as well? Updating wiki with RTH/RSH info, what do you want to see included? - HerrPetersen - 2010-07-22 I guess it should be extended to general learning stuff, just as the RTK part includes those (links to podcasts, multimedia etc). I guess what the (Chinese part of the) forum needs most at this point is the airing of a hanzi.koohii page. I think the biggest part of the community for the Japanese learners is "lured" to the forum because they stumble on the kanji.koohii page. Updating wiki with RTH/RSH info, what do you want to see included? - zonius - 2010-07-23 A small but nice thing would be if the title of the pages would stop saying "Learning Japanese" when in the Chinese forum . It's somewhat confusing to see it in bookmarks later - I always think that I've accidentally bookmarked a wrong page.
Updating wiki with RTH/RSH info, what do you want to see included? - ファブリス - 2010-07-23 The RtkWiki is meant only for Japanese learning resources. It's best that you organize a "compendium" topic of sorts that could be pinned in here, so that this information can move to the RevTH Wiki whenever the time comes. They're meant to move to another forum at some point. Some people could use search engines instead of the built-in search function in order to get better results or to use more advanced queries. Others (like me) have google-analytics permanently blocked. Updating wiki with RTH/RSH info, what do you want to see included? - HerrPetersen - 2010-07-23 Still I believe that having a rsh.kafei page would draw in "quality" members. Especially if the page becomes even close as popular as the kanji.koohii page. Updating wiki with RTH/RSH info, what do you want to see included? - ファブリス - 2010-07-23 HerrPetersen, I don't know what you mean by hanzi.koohii page. Following the logic of the current subdomain.domain.com, the Reviewing the Hanzi site will be at hanzi.koohii.com, but in practice since it will be a new site; I'll take this opportunity to use a new domain name. Suggestions for the new domain name are welcome by the way (preferably through forum email). SEO wise, xxx.koohii.com is bad, but I haven't figured how to move the site without breaking Google Analytics :/ Updating wiki with RTH/RSH info, what do you want to see included? - hornlo - 2010-07-23 This might answer the GA question: Moving analytics to a different domain - Google Analytics Help http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Analytics/thread?tid=7db8fc97083113f5&hl=en Updating wiki with RTH/RSH info, what do you want to see included? - HerrPetersen - 2010-07-27 I guess to emphasize the relationship between the Japanese page and the future Chinese page hanzi.kafei.com would be my recommendation for the future "reviewing the simplified/traditional hanzi" page. If not guessed or known before: "ka1fei1" is the pinyin for coffee in Chinese. Updating wiki with RTH/RSH info, what do you want to see included? - ファブリス - 2010-07-27 kafei DOT com is already taken of course ![]() PS: the site is moving to a plain domain name, rather than a subdomain. So it will be http://www.<domainname>.com The idea is to use plain english that people can remember and type easily. The forum can logically stay as a subdomain : forum.<domainname>.com Updating wiki with RTH/RSH info, what do you want to see included? - HerrPetersen - 2010-07-27 Hmm, in that case I guess something simplistic like http://www.reviewhanzi.com would be nice. I guess something like http://www.rsth.com (remembering simplified/traditional hanzi) while short is too cryptic. Of course it would be nice to somehow work the "heisig"-factor in, even though it is not a "must" in my opinion. |
