Links to good media for learning Mandarin - zer0range - 2009-10-28 One thing that bothered me about learning Mandarin (coming from Japanese) is the lack of a ton of good movies/anime/music etc.. Here's some good stuff that I've found. Music: Youtube: 许巍 - some cool alternative chill rock MC Hotdog - has a ton of good rap Soft Lipa - more rap Assorted rock and rap songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PX0WeyRGVw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hVTPWZ32yM http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/Djb7GMWHBIw/ Some movies: Rush hour dubbed: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/v5204rOUQ6U/ 独自等待 (Romantic comedy): http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMzY1MTMxMjg=.html DBZ: (Tons of episodes) http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/4aOAsttW4bw/ Porco Rosso: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/eyQkeNqHsHM/ Alien (4?): http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/ttkPQTR3Klw/ Ants: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/ham9mP-wReM/ Forget the english name... 丛林大又攻: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/EIOp4FaGTYQ/ 海底总动员 (Finding Nemo): http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/8LbJI1RcPnI/ Shrek 3:http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/H7eIpHf7Q-o/ Another way to find a ton of good stuff is to download PPLive, and use http://www.atmovies.com.tw/home/ to translate movie names, then search for them there (or in Tudou). Some things that I've found: Xmen1,2,3 and Origins. All of Jackie Chan's films dubbed. All of Jet Li. Most of Hayao Miyazaki (Howl's, Mononoke, etc..) Naruto Doraemon I'll probably post up some more in a few days if anyone finds this helpful. There's some really quality stuff here!!! Links to good media for learning Mandarin - bflatnine - 2009-10-29 There's a ton of good stuff available (for purchase) at books.com.tw I've gotten all 5 Harry Potter (哈利波特) movies with Chinese dubs/subs, as well as a bunch of Disney movies (Mulan/花木蘭, The Little Mermaid/小美人魚, The Jungle Book/森林王子), Shrek (史瑞克) 1-3, and a bunch of HK movies dubbed in Mandarin (花樣年華/In The Mood For Love, 2046, 功夫/Kung Fu Hustle, etc.). You can find titles with Simplified or Traditional subtitles (or sometimes both), but of course since it's a Taiwanese site there are more titles with Traditional subtitles (which everyone should learn to read even if you're learning Simplified). The great thing about books.com.tw is that the movies are inexpensive (esp. Disney movies compared to prices in the US), they ship quickly, and shipping charges are very reasonable. The last time I ordered from them, I got my order of 5 movies after only 3 days, and I believe the shipping charge was like $6. Not bad. Links to good media for learning Mandarin - zer0range - 2009-10-29 I'll have to try them... for some reason YesAsia takes an eon for anything to get to me. I also need to hit up the Chinatown in SF one of these days. Quote:But seriously, thanks! There's some really quality stuff here!!!Glad you liked it, I'll try to post up some more this weekend. When I lived in Boston, half my free time was spent in Chinatown (I couldn't speak at the time), and when I'd travel down to NYC sometimes I wouldn't even leave the Chinatown area while I was in town. So much fun, and I took it for granted until I moved to TX (grr). You can find stuff like LoTR1-3, some Starwars, One Piece, Bleach, Studio Ghibli, Disney (I've been enjoying 罗兵汉) etc... A few songs I've been enjoying lately.. Soft Lipa: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCwe5_Zf8Ow&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WJ-7CeyQ4o&feature=related Links to good media for learning Mandarin - HerrPetersen - 2010-01-10 Great links! Do you know of a method to download entire playlists? So far I can only download individual episodes via clibnabber Links to good media for learning Mandarin - HerrPetersen - 2010-01-10 In another post someone posted this: http://tv.sogou.com/series/yqlklxy.html Starts with a serious wtf-factor. Also good is this: http://tv.sogou.com/top/teleplay/index.html Here you can see what is hot in China right now, includes streaming-links. Links to good media for learning Mandarin - zer0range - 2010-01-10 Unfortunately I don't know of any way to download entire playlists.. if I stumble on a way I'll certainly share it. A movie I've been watching recently "非常完美“ it's a 大陆 romantic comedy, pretty good watch. Also, 我的青春谁做主 is not bad. Pretty sure they're both on Tudou. Edit: Thanks for the two links, looks like good stuff! They have torrents for a lot of East Asian movies. Most of the Chinese movies have dual audio tracks for Cantonese and Mandarin, and are also subtitled. They're a good resource. Links to good media for learning Mandarin - zer0range - 2010-03-25 Okay, figured I'd test the water with this and see if there's interest. Here's a link to a news clip (美国之音 voice of america) http://www.filefactory.com/file/b0d49f2/n/Googlenewsbit.mp3 Today I transcribed it (minus one of the interviews that I thought was bland) and had a few errors corrected by a native speaker. I didn't think about sharing it at the time, so it's all split up into my flash cards. If anyone does want it, let me know and I'll put it all together to post it. |
