Zhongwen red/green/blue? - deathtrap - 2009-08-08 I'm just wondering if there's any one of those sites I should start with first? Is there any difference between them(themes, study material...etc) or were the authors just trying to go in an artistic direction? Zhongwen red/green/blue? - mafried - 2009-08-08 Unfortunately we will probably never know as none of them were ever finished and Green and Blue only barely got off the ground before the author(s) disappeared. The wording of the descriptions of each it appears that there was meant to be a clear progression of Red -> Green -> Blue. But the reality is that they cover the same material from different perspectives (and typically different example sentences albeit with the same or similar vocabulary). So yeah, the "artistic direction" seems to be the best explanation. My recommendation: do Red as it's the most complete (and we've already started mining its sentences), then skim Green and Blue for sentences with new vocabulary as is is unlikely there would be any new grammar structure. EDIT: Caveat emptor. I may have been the first to introduce ZWR/G/B to this forum, but I'm still working through Red and haven't seriously looked at more than the first few lessons of Green and Blue yet... its possible they may progress in different direction. |
