Pimsleur level IV anki - graeme - 2015-10-27 Does anyone know if there's an anki deck or transcript of Pimsleur Japanese level IV? I've been accompanying my Pimsleur lessons with a deck for levels 1-3, and it's really useful. This deck: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/90188268 Pimsleur IV is relatively recent, so it wasn't covered at the time the deck was made. And I don't see it in the Pimsleur Japanese resources on ankiweb: https://ankiweb.net/shared/decks/japanese I could make the deck myself as I go through level IV, but I'm not confident I would do it right, especially since I'm only on around 500 Kanji with RTK. Pimsleur level IV anki - yogert909 - 2015-10-27 If you find a spreadsheet or some electronic text for pimsleur IV, you could relatively easily create the deck from that. If you find something, feel free to ask and I'll help you get it into anki. Pimsleur level IV anki - graeme - 2015-10-27 Yeah, the Anki bit's not the problem. It's that I don't know of any transcripts. Pimsleur makes their programs without transcripts to have them be audio only. So unless someone else has transcribed the new words in each lesson, I'd have to do it myself, and make sure I got all the hiragana right. Pimsleur level IV anki - yogert909 - 2015-10-27 Somebody did it for the first 3 levels, so you never know. But searching for the transcripts is casting a much wider net than searching for anki decks as the decks would likely be made from the transcript. This is the reason why I didn't keep up with pimsleur - it doesn't make any sense that it doesn't come with written materials. Pimsleur level IV anki - NinKenDo - 2015-10-28 Considering I wasn't even aware there was a Pimsleur lvl IV, I'd say it'll be a while before somebody gets around to it, if they ever do. They say that using writing can interfere with pronunciation, because you'll anglicize what you read. I think this is a fair concern, and when I've done pimsleur for other languages I've avoided writing until I'm done, and it leads to excellent pronunciation. I made an exception for Japanese for two reasons: 1. There are significantly fewer sounds than other languages, and they're fairly regular 2. I'm reading Hiragana, not a western alphabet. So I don't have pronunciation preconceptions to interfere But yeah, I don't think level IV will be out for a while, if ever. Since it's already 75% done, there's way less motivation for someone to start. I'll try once I get there, and see how hard it is to make the cards. |
