Confused about 嗅 with 大 (big) or 犬 (dog) - NumesSanguis - 2015-10-27 Should 嗅 be written with 大 (big) or 犬 (dog)? Kanji Koohii uses 犬, but in edition 6 of Remembering the Kanji it is 大. RK1-Supplement states the following: The only difference between the old and simplified forms is the addition of a single dot transforming our St. Bernard dog into a little chihuahua. So 犬 is the old version and 大 the new? Wiktionary has 2 entries: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/嗅 https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/口臭 So 臭 doesn't even exist with 口 in a single Kanji? What is better to use: 嗅 with 犬 or 嗅 with 大?
