Database of Japanese novels for learners - AndyinJapan - 2015-09-06 So, I'm trying to create a database of books which are good for Japanese learners. I can only read so fast though, so I'm looking for people to add books they have found helpful to that database as well. Any help you guys could give me with that would immensely appreciated! The site I'm hosting it at is http://www.thehonrepository.com. P.S. I looked for a rule section that would forbid posting links to your own websites and whatnot, but I did not find one. If this is an issue, please remove this post! I don't want to be a bother. =) 迷惑にならないように! Database of Japanese novels for learners - kapalama - 2015-09-06 Open Beta for http://www.satorireader.com/ They are looking for people to try it out. It sounds like they are trying something like that, but for money. Database of Japanese novels for learners - AndyinJapan - 2015-09-06 That looks like it could turn into a very useful resource! Thanks for the link. More reading material for learners is desperately needed I believe. There are too few graded readers, etc. Database of Japanese novels for learners - kapalama - 2015-09-06 AndyinJapan Wrote:That looks like it could turn into a very useful resource! Thanks for the link. More reading material for learners is desperately needed I believe. There are too few graded readers, etc. This is completely true. Graded readers are developed for the domestic market, but the dissonance between what a 8 year and similarly capable second language student are interested in is stark. Database of Japanese novels for learners - AndyinJapan - 2015-09-06 My thoughts exactly. I've tried to read a few of those 'domestic graded readers', and they just couldn't keep my attention for very long. Fortunately I began finding other materials. I hope that they continue to increase, and I'm hoping to be able to spread as much of it as possible! =D Database of Japanese novels for learners - James736 - 2015-09-06 There are now some graded Japanese readers for adult non-Japanese. There are several by レベル別日本語多読ライブラリー /にほんごよむよむ文庫 which come with CDs so you can read along, but I don't know how easy they are to get outside Japan. White Rabbit has some too, but I get the impression they're more for kids. Database of Japanese novels for learners - AndyinJapan - 2015-09-07 I've read most of those graded readers, and they were decent. I've reviewed levels 3 through 4 on the site. It would be nice to have some more though! Database of Japanese novels for learners - ktcgx - 2015-09-07 Other graded readers: http://tadoku.org/teachers/order I think they've joined forces with the reberu betsu guys. These, the reberu betsu, and the sendai graded readers are designed for adult readers, and they generally have quite a wide variety of stories, and some non-fiction stuff. I haven't minded so far, but that's because, following the principles of extensive reading, I only read what piques my interest ![]() Sendai graded readers: http://www.sjls.jp/jpn/book/book.html Also, Tadoku.org made a massive book list of suitable native books. So yes, the lower levels will contain books for children. But given how few graded readers there are for the Japanese market, it's shou ga nai.... These are all sorted into the different levels: http://tadoku.org/learners/book_ja/reference Database of Japanese novels for learners - AndyinJapan - 2015-09-08 Thank you for those links! I might have to add those to the useful links page on the site! =D |
