Anki for long-time retention - cophnia61 - 2015-08-19 I read this but I don't want to deviate the original topic even if my question is related to it. What interval setting do you suggest for word you already know from "the wild" but you want to keep them in long-term memory? I want something like this: I add a word, then I "learn" it in Anki so that I will see it again tomorrow, but after this first step I want the next step to be like 8 days if I press "good" and 16 days if I press "easy". I feel ashamed to say that to this day I still don't understand very well how those settings work :/ Anki for long-time retention - yogert909 - 2015-08-19 To do exactly what you ask, set your learning intervals to 1440 and set your graduating interval to 8. After the initial view, the learning interval will show the card to you 24 hours later(1440 minutes). Then, if you press "good" on the 2nd day, the card graduates from learning to young and that is what the graduating interval controls.
