Maybe you're talking about Korean Dramas, which are often melodrama. Police, medical, suspense, and supernatural dramas are examples of J-Drama that aren't romance comedy. My background is that I went through a few N1 listening workbooks(Kanzen Master N1, Soumatome N1). But the mumbling and the background noise in the dramas is making it hard to make out the words. The JDrama I am watching now, even though it is a bit older is called "Buzzer Beat." I have Japanese subtitles for it. I could fall back to animes but I'd rather get more experience with JDramas. I am good with reading, having read probably around 65 or more light novels and have learned about 33k vocabulary words from the cards in my anki deck. I really want to get proficient with listening but it looks like it will take a while. I've watched the NHK news before but it is easier to understand than dramas because the newscasters speaker clearer. |
