Is that right? A study of Facebook postings supposedly shows that "LOL" has fallen out of favor and that "ha ha" is one of the more poplular ones.
I personally don't like "ha ha" because it seems goofy.

Really tempted to say "lol that's not true" right now.
In my experience lol still appears a fair bit, although I feel like it is less so than the craze when I first joined facebook. My sister uses ha ha, but she has done so for long time.
In japanese as well, I still often see the lol equivalent (as I understand it), 笑 a fair bit.
Overall they seem to be still fairly popular. And they both seem goofy

I LOL it up all the time.
Actually it's strange, when talking to someone I've conversed through text with for many years I'll use LOL like I always have. If I'm talking to someone new, I am more likely to use ha ha, but LOL isn't out of the question.

Most people I know who use haha on Facebook are my older relatives so I can assume that might be the reason. I pretty much use lol on a regular basis and so do my friends.

I hardly ever use 'lol', but that's mostly because it seems weird with my internet writing style. I've only used it often in IRC or other chat systems (like in MMOs).
Sometimes I use 'heh', but I agree that 'haha' seems a bit strange.

I love the generational difference on "LOL". My aunt thinks it means "Lots of Love". There was some confusion when my parents house burned down a couple of years back and she wrote "LOL" on all the comments about it.
