I couldn't answer that question, I didn't really know why it was so bad so I had to think things through. Here's the conclusion: I spent too much time doing it on the weekend. I think I spend about 10 hours a day reviewing a couple of minutes, then reading blogs for a while and then coming back to Anki. I thought it'd be easier that way but NO IT WAS NOT. So I decided to add a hundred cards one more time. I finished it in about 6 "real" hours (anki says 3h) and it was a piece of cake. By the way, during the week I also learned a lot about learning. If a word had a kanji I knew from RTK2, it was a lot easier. Every time I made a mnemonic, words became surprisingly easy to learn, no matter how bad the mnemonic was. Associating the mnemonic with the kanji's image from RTK1 was very useful, too. I didn't really think about these things so much when I learned words at a slower pace. The next thing I'm going to do is to finish RTK2, that's for sure. After it I'd like to try something weird again. How about a month of 500 words a week? |
