Chuujoukyuu no Nihongo - Monthly Japanese study magazine - chamcham - 2015-06-24 Nihongo Journal will always be missed. I recently came across 中上級の日本語。 It is a small monthly Japanese study magazine. Maybe 30-40 pages. As you can tell by the name, it is for upper intermediate learners who are close to advanced level. Here are sample pages: http://www.ssnihongo.com/about_3/about_3.html Are there any other similar magazines for studying Japanese? I know about Mangajin and Nihongo Journal. I am looking for magazines that are still in publication. Thank you. Chuujoukyuu no Nihongo - Monthly Japanese study magazine - Roketzu - 2015-06-24 First time I've seen anything like this and while I think it's great, I also think it completely sucks that they limit it to being physical and don't offer any way to pay for a digital version. They have a site that gives all the details on their back catalogue and I think it's a complete waste to not open up all of that to digital sales. It almost makes me angry! Chuujoukyuu no Nihongo - Monthly Japanese study magazine - Zarxrax - 2015-06-24 Hiragana Times still seems to be going. http://www.hiraganatimes.com/ Chuujoukyuu no Nihongo - Monthly Japanese study magazine - john555 - 2015-06-24 I noticed furigana over the kanji.... Just a question, is the learning experience better if furigana are NOT used and unfamilar characters are looked up in a character dictionary? Does that lead to a deeper/more lasting knowledge of the kanji in the reading passage? Chuujoukyuu no Nihongo - Monthly Japanese study magazine - chamcham - 2015-06-24 Most, but not all of the sections have furigana. From taking a glance, the 3 sections that don't have furigana are the manga, news and 今日の話題 sections. The manga text looks like it might be handwritten. The news stories are 2 pages each. The news section has the article without furigana on the left page with some words underlined. On the right page is the furigana for the underlined words. Something that i like about the magazine is that this magazine is NOT explicitly geared towards JLPT study. So you're not studying for the test. As far as a digital version, the company's email is ss_nihongo@yahoo.co.jp Maybe someone can email them and ask. |
