Follow on for Japanese for Busy People III - AussieTrooper - 2015-03-12 I just finished JBP III. My teacher has asked if there is a textbook I'd like to use next. Any suggestions? Follow on for Japanese for Busy People III - RawToast - 2015-03-12 I'd take a flick through the contexts pages of Genki 2 and check that JBP has covered all the points. I imagine there will be one or two chapters you may wish to cover (use a pdf or borrow a copy of the book to do this). Then I would look at Tobira or An Integrated Approach. Those two textbooks are often recommended to people who have completed Genki 2. Follow on for Japanese for Busy People III - NinKenDo - 2015-03-13 Hiyaku could be a good choice. I haven't seen JBPIII, but Hiyaku has a nice, rather large review section to cover some stuff you probably already learnt but might have missed one or two of the grammar points contained therein, depending on your textbook. So it works well for picking up from high-beginner and moving into low-Intermediate, regardless of your textbook. It's also my general recommendation for high-beginner/low-intermediate, but it's particularly hand because like I said, it hedges its bets a little and makes sure to include full explanations for the review points, for anybody who hadn't learned them previously. Any suggestions? How about for extra practice you work through the JBP workbooks including using the CD's? (Assuming you haven't already done that). That would be a good review since obviously the workbooks "go with" and complement the JPB textbooks. I have all three workbooks. They're loaded with practice material. My teacher is asking what to start with for the next class. Follow on for Japanese for Busy People III - AussieTrooper - 2015-03-19 Thanks everyone, I'll discuss this with my sensei today.
Follow on for Japanese for Busy People III - AussieTrooper - 2015-03-20 My sensei brought a copy of Tobira to class today. Looks like that will be the one.
