Help - jryudice - 2015-03-02 SO yeah, I don't get something. If the Joyo list says there are around 2134 Kanjis, why there are more than 3000 kanji at the website for studying? what's the difference betwwen RTK1 and RTK2 & 3? Help - jessem - 2015-03-02 RTK goes beyond the joyo. I think because you need some extra kanji to build up to certain primitives (transitional kanji, basically), and also because Heisig wants you to know all 60 flower-specific kanji. Not all of them are really necessary. If you don't want to spend any more time on kanji than you have to, research "RTK lite" to find a cross-reference list of only RTK's most necessary high-frequency use kanji. RTK 1 is the the most important and basic list (about 2,000 kanji). Start here, and if you finish here, that's good too. RTK 2 has pronunciations (not a good book from what I've heard) and RTK 3 has even more kanji (about 1,000 more). Help - jryudice - 2015-03-02 Thank you |
