Did anyone know hot to add to the cards of 2k deck the "kanji+meaning/story" on the each card vocabulary?
(The kanji story/meaning I have in separate text file)

example:
for card:
出席

add to the answer also:
出 - meaning/kanji story
席 - meaning/kanji story

I have some knowledge of text mining and programming but need to know how to do that and without destroying my deck or its statistics as I'm in the middle of using it?

Or my question is in other words - how to add new fields to the card (not manually) in the deck which is in current use?

I've been meaning to update my kanji deck this way but I've never quite got round to it (or mustered the courage):

1. Sync to Ankiweb, then turn off auto-syncing.
2. Back up your ~/Anki directory for good measure.
3. Export the deck from Anki to .csv, and process it with your program.
4. Add the required extra fields to the deck in Anki.
5. Re-import the processed .csv file back into the deck. Anki will overwrite notes with the same index field but keep your review history (hopefully).

Except that instead of the corresponding kanjis, mine was the corresponding vocabs that shared the same pronunciation because personally that is what I struggled more when practicing my listening skills.

How did you made/add the duplicates by reading? This will be very convenient for my 2k deck as I struggle most of the time for the readings and duplicates drive me crazy Smile

can I somehow duplicate the deck and try this safe on the second one Smile

I suppose there is a way duplicating only the deck and the two decks can use the same media?

That's easy with anki.

1. Open your profile
2. Ctrl-E (or File>export)
3. Use pull-down menu next to 'Include' to select the deck that you want to backup
4. Make sure 'Include scheduling information' box is checked
5. This will save your deck as a .apkg file in your anki directory

I'd have liked to share my deck, but I edited quite a number of card's english transation so it'd make more sense to me. perhaps about 30 of them.

(I have noticed that if double click an Anki file deck even if he has new name he is overwriting the same deck (if it have the same origin). If you share me a deck that have modifications how to be sure to import it as a separate new and not overwriting some of my own if they originate from the same file origin?)
