Hi RtKers
I didn't forget about this wonderful community As I slowed down with my study of japanese, my love for japan is still alive (I still love japanese language too, I must say) and I want to read japanese books in their english translation. But it would be better if they are enough well-known to have an italian translation (see Murakami), because I want my family to read them too
So any suggestion is welcome! (the more the better)
I like Murakami so something similar is ok, but every suggestion will be good

Sorry I can't answer your question... but have you tried the other way? E.g. find good famous english/italian books and then read their Japanese translation? It's probably easier that way, especially if you are new

Yoko Ogawa, Ryu Murakami and Natsuo Kirino are widely available in English. Keigo Higashino also seems to be available on Amazon, although I don't personally recall every seeing anything of his in the bookshop.
Banana Yoshimito is also easily available, although I have gone off her recently myself. I think some of her old stuff is good. All You Need is Kill is translated into English too. I forget the author, but just search the title. I think that is probably completely different to all the other books/authors mentioned above though, as it is action/sci-fi. It's really hard to say what you would like based just on Murakami.
Kazuo Ishiguro is pretty good too, although of course he writes in English so probably will not meet your criteria.
