Translation Battle contest - vonPeterhof - 2014-10-01 I read about this on Sunday, and I'm planning to do it over the weekend. Not really hoping for anything, since I'm not a native speaker of English, but I like translating, and this seems like an interesting challenge. Translation Battle contest - Moses - 2014-10-02 I entered last year. It was fun, but there was no feedback for any entrants besides the top placers. A lot of my decisions matched the ones made by the winners, so I didn't come away from the experience feeling like I had learned anything. I mean, I get it. It's a "contest" where the winner gets to do underpaid gruntwork on a series they may or may not actually care about, so to not at least get some kind of feedback from people who have been doing this for a while was kind of a bummer. But I like a lot of the series they're offering this year, so I'm still probably going to submit entries for most of them :> Translation Battle contest - Shinichirou - 2014-10-03 Sounds like an interesting contest. But the characters are way too small for me to read properly, is there a way to zoom in or something? Translation Battle contest - lumiina - 2014-10-03 I am planning on entering. 日常 is such a big title! New deadline is November 7th, I think because the site went under construction for a short while. Sometimes the resolution of the files you're sent isn't that great, so you have to be able to read blurry or small characters. Translation Battle contest - aldebrn - 2014-10-03 Didn't read the official rules, but I am guessing the translations (even for non-winners) will be owned by the media company? It'd be nice if people could post their translations here and everyone could to compare and discuss dissect the decisions made. Actually that'd be incredibly fascinating... Translation Battle contest - anotherjohn - 2014-10-03 Seems I'm not allowed to view last year's winning entries from my location for some reason. And not recognising words because of the poor image quality is just plain annoying.
