Kanji Poster - Is it in Heisig order? - AndamanIslander - 2008-02-19 Hey! KanjiPoster looks like the bomb! I'll DEFINITELY buy it, but only if the kanji are in Heisig Order. Are they? Kanji Poster - Is it in Heisig order? - Jarvik7 - 2008-02-19 Looking at the zoomed in portion on the site, it looks like no, it's not in Heisig order. Kanji Poster - Is it in Heisig order? - Nukemarine - 2008-02-19 Think of the poster as motivation, not a learning aid. So the order should not matter. Hmm, you know, a screen saver that randomly flashes Kanji would be pretty cool. I assume there's something like that out there. Any links? Kanji Poster - Is it in Heisig order? - fuaburisu - 2008-02-19 I asked the same to paddy, he said it's not in RtK order, but he also said it was his "first run", so definitely let him know you'd like a RtK version, there's a contact form on the kanjiposter site. Kanji Poster - Is it in Heisig order? - AndamanIslander - 2008-02-19 I just don't think it would be very motivational to end up with a poster where I can't find the kanji I'm looking for! Maybe he could print up a batch School-Order on one side and RtK-Order on the other... Kanji Poster - Is it in Heisig order? - Nukemarine - 2008-02-19 Hmm, that they'll print up a poster in the order you want sounds cool. Some will go Heisig, some will go common use order, some will go the jouyou order, etc. Well, assuming they're able to do it within reasonable cost. Kanji Poster - Is it in Heisig order? - sutebun - 2008-02-19 Oddly enough, about 5 days before this news post I made my own word file with two 11x17 papers filled with Kanji in Heisig order. You can download it here: (Edit: See two posts below for different versions) For those who could not read between the lines, 2 print outs of 11x17 = 22x34 =~24x36. Of course they're not laminated, but if you have a Fed Ex kinko's nearby you can go laminate it. I think it costs a few dollars per 11x17 (certainly not $37...) Also, it doesn't seem like it on their advertisements, but 24x36 is HUGE. With this set up, you can have each sheet in different places, and if you just want one of them, it doesn't take up much room. Kanji Poster - Is it in Heisig order? - AndamanIslander - 2008-02-19 sutebun, Wow, way to sink a business model in a single forum post. Your set is even in the "right" order. Great When I downloaded them, though, a few spilled over onto a 3rd page. I wonder why. You wouldn't consider linking to a 2 page PDF, would you? Kanji Poster - Is it in Heisig order? - sutebun - 2008-02-19 Sure. Kanji Print Outs: Word document To anyone printing, make sure your printer's settings are on 11x17. Kanji Poster - Is it in Heisig order? - AndamanIslander - 2008-02-19 Fantastic. You even used a 教科書体 font. I'll be at Kinko's tomorrow morning with your PDF. Kanji Poster - Is it in Heisig order? - ivoSF - 2008-02-19 i already have a poster with the 1950+ kanji and with the most common on reading, sadly its a bit cheap paper and its not laminated. i might buy this kanji poster if its in the heisig format. Kanji Poster - Is it in Heisig order? - ファブリス - 2008-02-19 Paddy could reply here or might choose to handle questions only through his site, I told him it would be fine to answer here though, just so you know. I feel it's alright for him to answer any questions regarding his product so long as there's no direct advertising in the forum posts. Since there weren't any real advertising so far on the site I thought I'd clear up a few things ahead of time. For those who've been here before last October or so, you have probably seen the japanesepod101 ad. That was an affiliate link and it earned me a grand total of 0$ for the several months is stayed on the homepage. Kanjiposter is not an affiliation, it's more like sponsoring. Sponsoring seems like the best option for the site to grow. The advertiser gets visibility and hopefully some sales, and I get a fixed, agreed amount in exchange for it. With that said I see kanjiposter's ad on kanji.koohii.com as a win/win situation. It's interesting for me to see how well he will be doing, and how we can make it work, because getting some good sponsors who have relevant products to sell like Japanese dictionaries and such can help both the site and the visitors. Ultimately it also means that with good sponsoring/advertising a lot of valuable content of the site can remain free, if/when we come to that point where the site needs a dedicated server to run. Kanji Poster - Is it in Heisig order? - paddy71 - 2008-02-19 Hi Folks, Thanks for all the posts and interest in my new business venture. I have already been asked by a few different people if I can to a poster in the RTK order. I have made up a couple of new versions of the poster and they will be available in the next day or two... Version 1 - will be the poster as it is in order you would learn them in school. Version 2 - will be RTK order no keyword. Version 3 - will be RTK with keyword below. As for the size 24" X 36"... yep, it's huge... It's awesome, I've made one for every room!! For those of you who wish to make your own posters and get them laminated at Kinkos I say go for it. That's how I got started in business venture in the first place. My price is at $37 because they are expensive to make and ship (price includes worldwide shipping) and I also would like to make some money to purchase Houses and Ferrari's and such. Stay tuned for poster updates... As I said they are a couple of new versions on the way. If you find you made it to this post and think it's a good idea but don't want to spend the $$ I suggest you download the above link, print it out yourself and donate $5.00 to Fabrice and the Reviewing the Kanji website, cuz this place rocks!!! Best of luck to all!!!
