How do I install EPWING dictionaries on Android? - Errol246 - 2014-08-04
So, I've been hearing all kinds of great things about EPWING, which has gotten me very excited to try it out myself.
I have an EPWING dictionary here in iso format, 研究社 新英和大辞典 第６版, which I can mount on my mac and peek into. I see two folders, one called EIDAI6 and another one called WIN. I read somewhere on these forums that I was supposed to transfer these two folders onto my Android phone, so I created the folder "dicts", made another folder in there for the dictionary and transfered these two previous folders in there.
Now, in DroidWing I have to choose my dictionary directory, but this is as far as I've gotten yet. It was first set to /sdcard so I changed it to /sdcard/dicts/, but that didn't work. Then I went into Astro file manager and saw that the sdcard folder is actually called /sdcard0, so I tried that - didn't work. Then I went all nuts and went back all the way to the first folder, 'storage', plus I added the name of the dictionary folder itself, so I ended up with /storage/sdcard0/dicts/研究社新英和大辞典・弟６版, and that didn't work either.
So, what am I supposed to do? I'm at a loss here.
