Good videogames to "learn" japanese - Kuzunoha13 - 2014-07-31 Tales games are amazing - I'm going through Xillia 2 right now. It's probably one of the best entries in the series. I've only played Sora no Kiseki FC, but I loved it so much it was one of my primary motivations to start learning Japanese (since the later entries will probably never be localized). As someone else stated, it's one of the most text heavy games ever...so be prepared. Good videogames to "learn" japanese - Betelgeuzah - 2014-08-02 FFXIV:新生エオルゼア is a good game for practicing Japanese. The dialogue is mostly bite-sized, the vocabulary is varied though perhaps more fancy than in your average JRPG, and you also get plenty of practice on colloquial Japanese if you play with other people. It's also an entertaining video game. Good videogames to "learn" japanese - Kotoko - 2014-08-07 It's a hard one to get to play if you don't have a Japanese Wii, but there's a game called Kiki Trick which is VERY good for Japanese listening skills. It's a listening game, with lots of minigames - for example, you're the owner of a shop on a train platform and someone comes and asks you for something, but there's a train going by. You have to listen through the noise and give them the correct item. Minigames range from fairly simples ones like that, to ones that are slightly more difficult (small children give you katakana English and if they say the wrong thing, like エベレータ instead of エレベータ then you slap them. Yes, you slap children) to more difficult ones where you interview certain characters. I used to play it with my Japanese speaking friends and even the non-Japanese speakers were picking up simple Japanese words after a few rounds. |
