OMG Gacco! - kodorakun - 2014-05-27 Hey All, I don't know if this is old news, but I just stumbled upon a Japanese Coursera clone called Gacco. It seems that they put a lot of effort into making a slick interface. There's only one course available right now but their lecture interface is *awesome*. They link to youtube videos and as the speaker gives his lecture the subtitles scroll by (exact!) on the right, in time. If you don't understand something, you can click the subtitle and it will jump back to that part of the lecture. This seems like a great intermediate/advanced learner's resource, especially if you're the more bookish 独学 kind of student that doesn't get as much listening practice as you'd like. Anyway, the site is here: http://www.gacco.org K. OMG Gacco! - mc962 - 2014-05-27 If you want to do a bit of searching for it, there is a larger thread somewhere on this site that talks about it. I believe there was some courses about medieval studies and the internet, or something like that (I wasn't paying as much attention to it) OMG Gacco! - sholum - 2014-05-27 Bigger thread here: http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=11773 It's a great site. I didn't know it could seek from the subtitles though, that's pretty cool. Right now, there is only only one course available, which is a basic course about the internet. The first lecture was discussing the origins of it and how UNIX helped make it happen. Previously, there was a Japanese Middle Ages class, but that is closed now; I don't know if it will be reopened (I think so, since the material is still available if you were enrolled in the class already). There's a lot coming out this summer, so be on the look out for something that interests you. |
