Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammar Natural Progression - xzx395 - 2014-04-01 Hey Guys! This is my first post! I have been learning Japanese for sometime now and I have learned to love the Dictionary of Japanese Grammar Series (the Japan Times ones with the yellow red and blue covers). One thing that I always wanted to do was read these books cover to cover but they are set up alphabetically and meant to be used a reference books. I was thinking, what if we all worked together and set up page numbers telling someone how to progress through those books and turn them into readable "textbook". For example, it would look something like this "Read は pg. ?? then read が pg. ??" This is just an idea but I think it would be really helpful for anyone learning the language. Let me know what you guys think! Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammar Natural Progression - Betelgeuzah - 2014-04-02 I have read the basic dictionary from cover to cover and like 30% from the intermediate dictionary. In my opinion it doesn't matter how you progress through the books especially if you have read the basics of the Tae Kim guide (which IMO is a good starting point nonetheless). Everything in the basic dictionary is essential to Japanese grammar. To understand the language you should be familiar with every grammar point in the book. On the other hand the intermediate dictionary works much better as a mere reference tool IMO. Many of the grammar points are something you might be able to guess by yourself if you have the basics down. Just my 2 cents. It doesn't take that long if you're not trying to remember everything. After a few passes, it makes more and more sense!
