And by that, I mean RtK I and III put together to be form one big bulk of 3007 cards.

While, yeah, that might scare some people off, the updated dependencies would make learning the actual kanji a lot easier, well, in theory. For example, primitives and kanji that act as primitives introduced in RtK III can be introduced as they are introduced in RtK I. Ex: 胡 can be inserted before 湖 and other kanji could be changed to reflect the new primitive, like 醐.

Most of RtK III is horribly organized so doing this would be a major boon to anyone who wants to do it anyway, but there obviously some structural problems with making two lists, such as agreeing on the numbers, doing the research, and, well, making a website that could do this.

Because of that, I'm just mentioning the idea: I've already completed RtK III, myself, but I think if we did actually do this, it would be much easier to complete. The main reason why RtK is so awesome is the structural order, so improving that to accommodate RtK III should only be good thing.

I posted a list in this thread that should be helpful in this respect.

It would also be useful to have a list of suggested names for unnamed primitive combinations, plus the numbers where they occur.

E.g. 228 葉, 521 蝶, 2158喋, 2726 諜, 2926 牒.

The common element here is "generation + tree" (which I call "Tarzan" as he lives with several generations of his family at the top of a tree).

I suppose you can use the "Substitute Keyword" script to do that using this site.

I think you misunderstood the point of the thread. It's about reordering the kanji not renaming them.

RtK Omnibus? - Transtic - 2008-02-07

I understood perfectly. If you make such a list with the kanji reordered, you can study it using the script. Remember that you can use it to edit the kanji and stroke count too.

Yes. Well, no. The current script is not well suited for that. But I'm working on an improvement that should prove useful. Meanwhile, keep inventing those great titles, like RevTK Lite or RtK Omnibus. I love that. That and Katsuo's lists certainly make things easy for me.

Hm. None of the stories would match up with the kanji. Plus, to make room for this kanji, you'd either need to swap with one (on what criterium?), or move up all kanjis in between, which is cumbersome and worsens the kanji-story disjoint. Not particularly appealing.

Ah k, I never checked it out since I never wanted to rename the keywords (plus I don't use firefox). Didn't know it had other functions too.
