I never used Yomichan, but in WaKan, you can paste your text and let it generate readings and, if you want to, meanings, too. Then it would look like this (in this case, without definitions, those would pop up below the word in question in a small box):
I like yomichan. Another option that I've started using is the glossing function of jdic. Just paste in what you're reading and it'll give you a list of all the words with their readings and definitions. jglossator does the same thing even better. When I get more into my reeding phase, it wouldn't be hard to convert the gloss to csv and import to anki for a little SRSing before reading so there won't be words I haven't seen before. I plan to gloss srt files before I watch movies, but I need a better base vocabulary for that.

I have a question for the people who add lots of new vocabulary each day: do you have a vocabulary goal that you are trying to reach? For example, it's one thing to say that you are adding 100 new words a day. But after 1 year that will mean you have added 36,500 words. (Or half that if you want to distinguish between notes and cards).

It's nice that Anki let's you do this, but I think at some point you might be passing the limits of a normal person's vocabulary. I'm just wondering what the larger goal of all this vocabulary studying is.
