I still don't really understand what it is. What is a ワンセグ？And if you have a smartphone why not use a mobile network (e.g. 3g)? I don't live in Japan so maybe I'm missing something here. Looks fun though, enjoy.

It's HDTV on your phone. Keitais already come with it, there's even a button TV文字 that tunes in the TV signal and displays the subtitles. There are more options, but I don't own one so I don't know what I missing.
