Android Japanese Games - kassia - 2014-03-02

I'm looking for interesting japanese games with text (to practice reading) for android. Anyone has recommendations? I'm still a beginner but not really worried about understanding every single word of the game

Lots of stuff there with text. Also, you might want to get an emulator app and go through games you've either played in English, or found a walkthrough for in English.

I second emulators. There's even a good nDS emulator now called Drastic, works almost perfectly on high end devices. I'm playing pokemon Heart Gold just for fun, it doesn't have kanji like (some of?) the other DS generations but I prefer the nostalgia.

Here's three games I often play on Android that I can recommend:

インフレーションRPGクエスト [Store Page] - (Japanese only) Gameplay bears resemblance to Half Minute Hero. You got 30 battles on you to beat the game. Try to level up as high and quickly as you can and progress further. If you make enough money, you can buy new (permanent) equipment that makes getting further easier. Moderatelly difficult Japanese.

くるぽんアベンジャー [Store Page] - (Japanese only) A slot machine RPG. Simple, fairly fun and can be played with minimum Japanese knowledge. Got a cute retro style to it. Beat levels, win new better troops and beat more levels.

Final Fantasy Dimensions [Store Page] - (Japanese or English. Switch by changing your system language.) Final Fantasy probably needs no introduction, but in any case, the game's a good classic RPG. Critically well-received. The Japanese is of moderate difficulty. Doesn't appear to work on routed devices, just so you know.

The first two are free with in-game ads. The FF game is paid only.
