That's not too bad; the only thing I'm not sure about is that mark after まだ in the second line -- is that supposed to be the ku-no-ji repetition mark? That should just be one, but maybe it's a different symbol I'm not familiar with.

yes, it's the repeating symbol for hiragana
only for vertical writing. (first time I have seen it too).

Transcribed below...

context is I ordered a hand made tripod bag.
Also, this person is older so uses some older styles of words (pointed out below)

(old style of 思います)
(Note the へ here in the letter is the written version used only in letter handwriting ちょんちょん 濁点マーク).

by the way. not in this letter but I also learned today that older folks sometimes use

I've seen lots of those in old manuscripts, but I've never seen one that has two marks like that instead of just one. Usually it looks like this:

Thank you, Al Gore (self proclaimed inventor of the Internet), for the digital revolution. I will forever be grateful to you that reading people's handwriting is no longer something I need to concern myself with.

This makes me feel better about my handwriting! Mine is bad but this is actually pretty similar in messiness. Thanks for the reading practice :-).

Am I crazy, or did he write

Real handwriting -> letter I received - yudantaiteki - 2014-03-21

Looks like 聞 to me too.

This, actually had seen before.
A asked B if he can use ]apanese in daily life. Then B said "まだまだ". Means he can't use fluently.
