DnD in Japan - Zgarbas - 2014-02-25 So, as I was recently disappointed to see that there's no organized Pathfinder society group in Japan, I was wondering. Is DnD a thing in Japan? Do they have organized play at all, or should I just start stalking expats till I find one with dice in their pockets? (I'd start my own group, but with my rather caveman Japanese I don't think I could pull off creating a fantasy world) DnD in Japan - RandomQuotes - 2014-02-25 I don't know about playing per say, but I do know that there is a book genre that just records peopls conversations during games. This leads me to believe that it does exist. DnD in Japan - youasuki - 2014-02-25 Actually I used to play with a group in the Nagoya area back when I was living in Aichi. I think one of our DM's still hosts/plays in the Yellow Submarine game shop in Osu. Check it out. http://www.yellowsubmarine.co.jp/shop/shop-057.htm DnD in Japan - Fillanzea - 2014-02-25 Nagasaki University had a tabletop RPG group when I went there, but they didn't play D&D or Pathfinder; they played a Japanese RPG whose name I don't recall. There's an RPG store in Tokyo that has a bulletin board for people looking for players and GMs: http://jbbs.shitaraba.net/game/31655/ There's a TRPG circle in Nagoya, maybe get in touch with them? http://morgenstern.xxxxxxxx.jp/ DnD in Japan - Zgarbas - 2014-02-25 I love you guys <3 been searching about it for a while now and had found nothing. DnD in Japan - vix86 - 2014-02-25 Also check out Mixi for TRPG groups, you might be able to find something. But the comments above are probably a good start. I tried some Sword World RPG when I studied abroad here and found the process very difficult with not good Japanese. Make sure you do some research on common playing terms, weapons/armour /etc. or you'll be lost especially since some of the words are not common. If they'll let you play, I'd recommend watching a campaign and noting stuff you don't know about and looking it up. |
