I Am a Ukrainian - buonaparte - 2014-02-19 I Am a Ukrainian - Stansfield123 - 2014-02-19 Yes, it sucks what's going on. But Ukrainians did elect that guy... Maybe instead of dying in the streets, the people who want to be free should just consider leaving, and let the rest reap what they have sown. I Am a Ukrainian - nadiatims - 2014-02-19 Why don't they just wait to the next election in 2015 and vote the guy out..? How is violently kicking out an elected government justified when I presume half the people voted for and/or still support it? I Am a Ukrainian - dtcamero - 2014-02-19 Aren't their elections rigged by the Russians? If I recall they voted in the first non-Russian puppet 7 or 8 years ago and then he was poisoned and somehow pushed out... If not, then revolt against tyranny is justified even if the tyrant got elected fair and square (which I seriously doubt he did anyway). The only question is, is that justified revolt also worth it, from the perspective of the people risking their lives on those barricades? I guess sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. From the comfort of my armchair, it doesn't seem like it's worth it in this case. But I'm open to being convinced otherwise. I Am a Ukrainian - Stansfield123 - 2014-02-20 Here's Ukrainian democracy at work: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/ukraine-crisis-video-evidence-government-snipers-massacre-kiev-protesters-1437230 Snipers deployed against protesters, deliberately murdering them and medics trying to help them. Would that justify violently kicking out the man who gave those orders? Theirs rather kills its own people instead. |
