Go into Anki. Check your statistics for each deck. In your statistics, change the setting at the bottom to "deck life" and add up the total reviews from the Review Count section in each deck.

According to mine I started my earliest deck approximately 8 months ago (I now run three decks). Since then I have looked at Anki flashcards over 143,000 times. My level is JLPT3+. Madness! (Or maybe normality? I don't know!)

Post yours too!

Madness? This-is-GUNMAAA!

I started ANKI several times, deleted it again and again and hated it a lot. Reinstalled it for RTK, and this is my rep count, while sitting at 1080 Kanji:

Total: 8283 reviews
Average for days studied: 172.6 reviews/day
If you studied every day: 145.3 reviews/day

Total: 202938 reviews
Average for days studied: 170.4 reviews/day
If you studied every day: 145.0 reviews/day

Seem to be missing about 8 months of data though. This just goes back 46 months.

Total: 236141 reviews
Average for days studied: 206.4 reviews/day
If you studied every day: 201.5 reviews/day
(Deck contains ~25,000 cards)

I used to do a lot of reviews each day (probably averaged 250), but changed that about 1.5 years ago by tweaking the interval settings so that I would be shown fewer cards. My card adding rate also dropped quite a lot. As a result, nowadays I probably average 150 reviews / day, which I can speed through in about 10-15 minutes.

I don't know where it shows this but I think I started Anki around April of last year.

Days studied: 78% (261 of 333)
Total: 15212 reviews
Average for days studied: 58.3 reviews/day
If you studied every day: 45.7 reviews/day

I do RTK on this site so I don't know if there is a way to see stats here but I'm sure it's a lot.

You guys have pretty high review counts with pretty low averages-per-day, you must have been at this for a while.

I see well over a thousand cards every day, which is not a work load I'm especially happy with but I've certainly seen results.

I'm using 4 decks, so I can't give precise stats on average, but here we go :

Total reviews (on all my decks) 70079

I'm averaging at about 200 reviews per day since a couple of weeks, ever since I pimped my sentence deck up.

Before that when going through RTK I averaged at about 120 / day and I never missed a single day of review.

That's a lot, how long have you been keeping this up ? How long does it take you per day ?

How many total flash cards have you looked at? - sholum - 2014-02-07

Days studied: 62% (378 of 604)
Total: 88792 reviews
Average for days studied: 234.9 reviews/day
If you studied every day: 147.0 reviews/day

This doesn't include my RTK deck or several other things I used, but deleted (even though they don't take up much space, they clutter the UI). I also stopped and started a couple of times, as can clearly be seen by the 'Days studied' field.

Days studied: 62% (378 of 604)
Total: -378640 hours
Average for days studied: -60101.6 minutes/day
If you studied every day: -37613.3 minutes/day
Average answer time: -15351.7s (0 cards/minute)

Can I ask how this is possible when the graph shows the results as positive (and correct) numbers? I have no clue how this happened by the way; it's not even a matter of changing the sign, it's all screwed up (it might have something to do with always using Ankidroid, but it's not a big deal).

Also, it's been about two months since I reviewed last (sounds right), according to the graph.

10671 reviews in 58 days. I feel dwarfed Smile.

Edit: I thought this was a bit weird. 1000 just seemed to little.I was right, but am still dwarfed by the rest

I'm pretty hardcore about it. When I first started with Anki it was an hour a day. It's slowly increased and I've been putting in over six hours a day everyday for the past four months. Actually it's been eight hours a day for the past two months.

I run three decks. I have my Core2k/6k deck which is about 450 reviews plus whatever new cards I add (usually 100 a day but sometimes more). I have custom stepping at 1/10/30, so I see every new card 3 times. I'm only on Step 2 of Core6k doing standard order.

I finished RTK1 a month ago and still have 150 reviews a day, but that is steadily decreasing. However, once I get under 100 I will start on kanji->keyword reviews. That's another 2200 new cards.

Finally I have a Japanese->English sentence deck which I am in the process of finishing. I started to study Japanese with this deck by putting in crap from Rosetta Stone. Now I use it to reinforce difficult vocab from Core and for any extraneous words/phrases I want to lean. I recently started adding closed delete cards as well. This is usually 100-150 reviews a day. I sporadically add new cards to this whenever I fail a mature card or feel I need extra input. It currently has just over 4000 sentences, 90% of which are mature.

My typical weekday:

08:30 - Alarm goes off, make coffee, read BBC, check Facebook, email, etc
09:00 - Start studying Core2k/6k reviews
10:00 - Start new Core2k/6k cards
12:00 - Ten minute break for lunch, feed the cats, etc
12:10 - Continue adding new Core cards
13:30 - Shower, get ready for work
14:30 - Arrive work, use one hour "prep time" to do RTK1 reviews, by hand.

I have 10-15 minutes between every class which I use to do my sentence deck reviews. Because nearly everything in the deck is just reinforcement for other decks it goes pretty quickly.

20:30 - Arrive home, finish any extra cards, girlfriend finishes dinner
21:30 - Free time (!!)
24:00 - Bed-time

Core takes me a while when adding cards because I write out new words by hand. I've found it really helps cement new vocab and I can recall how to write it the majority of the time.

Weekends I don't add as many new cards and try to be totally finished by 2pm so the girlfriend doesn't bitch (too much).

I've gone from being able to order a beer and nothing else to conversational in 8 months. I've never taken JLPT but the practice stuff for JLPT3 is too easy and JLPT2 is still pretty hard.

I hate to imagine how many hours I've spent doing flashcards now.

The graph is interesting though, its actually quite low and small until the last 12 months where it dramatically accelerates. I've made very big progress though in those 12 months so I'm quite happy. Just incredibly boring sometimes!

Anki also tells you that Tongue

Total: 281 hours
Average for days studied: 34.2 minutes/day

From those numbers you should be able to tell that I do more single item cards (Kanji -> Keyword, single item readings, etc) than sentences.

I've also deleted some decks either because after doing 100 or so items I felt I wasn't ready for the deck or it overlapped another one. For example, I found the "Listen and learn" deck difficult last year with all those directions readings -- so I removed it.

43812 cards not including my deleted core deck. With the core deck it should probably be a little over 60000.

My study habits aren't as bad as they appear...I am actually 484 of 485 days studies, and the one day I missed was because for some reason my anki reset the day at 4am instead of 5am Sad Does it not respect daylight savings time?

Also....is anyone else using the mobile app? It takes over two minutes to generate my lifetime statistics Sad

This is for the past three months, doing vocab with clozed deleted sentences. I did do it more seriously for RtK (finished in six weeks) and early on for vocab. No longer have the data for those.

Anki remembers, even if you've deleted the decks. Just install any RTK deck and you'll be able to see your stats.

I've deleted the decks, Anki, Windows, threw away the hard drive, gave my old laptop to my mother, and even forgot what email I used for my old Ankiweb account. Cool

But if you're still up for the challenge of helping me figure this out, I'm game Smile

Highest was around 330/day at the peak of my N1 review days, which was after adding 25 cards a day for 5 months straight. I have since added very few cards so reviews have died down a lot (right now at around 100 reviews/day).

Unfortunately I briefly looked at a now-deleted chemical symbols deck ~2.5 years ago when I first learned about Anki (long before I started Japanese), which seems to be interfering with the long-term stats, so I had to limit them to 1 year. I'm also pretty sure I never missed a day, so I'm not sure why it says 364/365. Must have happened when the rollover was set to 2am (I have since set it to 6am).
