Move, move, move - afterglowefx - 2014-01-24 These synonyms are killing me. Girlfriend can't even really explain this one, and she's Japanese. Then again she's fairly terrible at explaining pretty much everything. 移る・移す - Trans./Intrans. 動かす 移動する What's the difference here? Thanks! Move, move, move - dizmox - 2014-01-24 You mean Quote:移る・移す - Intrans./Trans.? 移る・移す I think a better word for this in English is "transfer". Emphasizes that something is moving from point A to point B. Like staff transferring to a different department for example. 動く・動かす emphasizes the motion of the movement itself, instead of the end result. eg. a car moving. 移動する is quite general, kind of encompasses the above two meanings. Have to look at example sentences to really understand though. Move, move, move - afterglowefx - 2014-01-25 Ah, yeah, had that backwards up there. Thanks for the clarification! |
