I'm having an issue with Japanese text not displaying on one particular site. I haven't encountered any problems on other websites, so I'm not sure why it's happening here.

I played around with the fonts under options>content, but no dice. Here's a picture:

Thanks in advance.

It's not a font issue, it's most likely an encoding issue. My guess would be that your browser is trying to read it as unicode, but it's probably written in Shift_JIS or something. Try changing it to that and see if it helps, if not, try a few other Japanese ones. There is an option for it in the dropdown menu in Firefox. I'm personally using the Japanese version so I can't tell you exactly what it says, but it should contain the word "Encoding".

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked and couldn't find an option directly under the drop down menu, so I went under options>content>advanced, and changed the "fallback character encoding" to all the different Japanese encodings + utf8, but no luck.

When I right click and click "view page info", it says under general that the page is in windows-1252 encoding which I don't have available. Aside from that, I think I need a way to enforce the encoding?

In Firefox press the alt key once and it will display the old menu bar at the top.
The options are in View-->Character Encoding

Nice, that worked like a charm. Thanks a million!
