So I decided to write a remembering the kanji facebook app. Any suggestions on what you'd like it to do? For now all I have in mind is a review system and a profile box that says how many kanji you know. Story sharing is also a possibility, but I don't think I'd ever get the quality and quantity of stories here.

That's great, Syntoad...I've been wanting an RtK Facebook app since day one.

I probably won't actually *review* on Facebook, but I do want to be able to display how many Kanji I've added and what percentage I've remembered correctly. The point here is *motivation* - if I get demotivated at some point along the line, I want my friends to hold me accountable. "Hey, you've been stuck on 739 kanji for like three weeks now, what's up?"

Pairs of learners from this site could use it to partner up with one another and race, or just to keep tabs on one another's progress kind of like exercise buddies do.

As for features, I definitely want it to show a big celebratory graphic with fireworks or party balloons or something like that when I hit that magical 2042. Maybe even corny little motivational quotes to encourage us to go on. Imaginably, you could set it up so the program itself sends you motivational email if you "fall off the Heisig wagon" for, say, more than 10 days.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that a Facebook App like this should be all about motivation. This site does all it needs to do in terms of instruction. The weak link in the chain right now is the absence of any mechanism to keep us motivated if our pace starts to slacken.

Yeah, sounds like a great idea.
The application itself, and the point of causing motivation.

Really I think it should just be a display of your stacks and failed/expired/added stats. I don't think there is really any point in being able to do the reviews themselves on facebook.
