Android Dictionary with Multiple Words Lookup - ohooghuis - 2013-11-15

I just switched to a Galaxy Note 3 after using an iPhone for years. With the dictionaries on the iPhone (Midori or Japanese!) I could copy and paste a whole sentence into the search box and the dictionary would find all the separate words. All the Android dictionaries that I have tried don't have this ability. Unless I type the exact word with nothing after it they cannot find anything. Does anyone know an Android dictionary that can do this?

Haven't tried myself, but try the Tangorin app, just released a few days ago: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tangorin.app

If the feature isn't there yet, ask the author to include it in an update: http://tangorin.com/forum/531/

Edit: no, it's not available, since it's not on the website version either. Try asking the author to include it on both the website and the app.

It's not an app, but the wwwjdic site can do this.

I tried the search on the website. It can detect the separate kanji but not compounds. I guess the app won't be able either.

Thanks for the suggestion! It is a decent alternative. I added it as a shortcut on my home screen.

I found a perfect online dictionary app for this: WWWJDIC for Android

Jsho does this too: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ric.Jsho

It's no WWWJDIC but it could be an alternative in situations where an internet connection is not available.
