Etymology Study Project - akisnow - 2013-10-01 I'm fascinated by kanji radicals and etymology, and I'm looking for kindred souls who share my curiosity or trying to get people more interested in learning it. Today I learned that the 虫 in 独 and 触 is an abbreviation of 蜀 I found 8 kanji that use this element: 蜀獨觸囑濁燭躅髑 and I made mnemonics to remember them and posted them on my blog.
