Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - jonosuke - 2013-12-31 I really like how this deck is put together and would like to start using it. I've been using an older core2k6k deck for a long time now, with all of the first 2k done and have been unsuspending the rest as I encounter them in my studies or in native material. Since I have so much time invested in my old deck, I don't want to ditch it entirely. Would it be possible to programmatically migrate review counts, lapse, due date, suspended, etc. information from my old deck to this new deck? If anyone has any experience with this sort of thing, any tips about how to go about it would be greatly appreciated. Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - BlackIce - 2013-12-31 What older deck are you using? Can you post the link for your anki deck? I'm also currently doing 2k6k optimized now but also considering to move on to this 10k deck. Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - z1bbo - 2014-02-10 Sorry for the stupid question, I'm very new to this and anki is still really confusing. Is there a way I can edit what fields show up where? The biggest thing that is bothering me is that the english translation is on the front, but I naturally want to have it on the back. Tried to change it with the "Change Note Type" thing but every time I tried the deck got broken hard (I was really glad to discover the revert change function here )thanks a lot for this deck!! Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - Vempele - 2014-02-10 While reviewing, click Edit (in the lower left corner)->Cards... Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - z1bbo - 2014-02-10 Thanks for the fast answer, worked perfectly!! can't believe I've overlooked something this simple! Thank you so much!!!! Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - Chronopolis - 2014-03-09 I couldn't figure this out from the shared deck page, what are the marked cards (purple)? Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - muteki99 - 2014-03-09 Chronopolis Wrote:I couldn't figure this out from the shared deck page, what are the marked cards (purple)?I've been wondering this too. Also, why there are missing numbers in the Optimized-Voc-Index2k+4kDefault index. I have 4065 cards after taking the 2k out and the 6k+, so it doesn't really matter, just curious. Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - repdetect2 - 2014-03-12 Quick question for the masters here ![]() I love the layout of the deck but I was curious if you suggest doing production, then suspending recognition or just working through both in the same deck? I definitely want to produce for speaking, but I want to be able to learn by reading as I've seen so many suggest here. Thank you. Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - worthy7 - 2014-03-18 Original question was asking how to optimize the list of 4k words remaining. I wrote a plugin that would group them by kanji: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1139060204 It uses the kanji from Heisigs book RTK. If you add the 'most difficult kanji' index to each card, then sort by that field you should end up with the kind of list you are looking for. :-) Let me know if it helps you Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - vgambit - 2014-03-18 Is there an i+1 sentences deck? Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - qwertyytrewq - 2014-03-26 突っ掛ける 彼はいつもサンダルを突っ掛けている He always slips on sandals. 19619.jpg (photo of a girl's thong/bum crack) 捕らわれる 私は 先入観に 捕らわれていました I was misled by my own preconceived notions. 19547.jpg (photo of a little boy staring at an attractive woman's cleavage) 亡骸 小鳥[ことり]のなきがらを 木[き]の 根元[ねもと]に 埋[う]めました I buried the remains of the small bird under the root of the tree. 19300.jpg (photo of a real dog corpse, dog lovers will be shocked probably) Personally I found it hilarious but what I did find offensive were images that barely had something to do with the vocabulary in question or had nothing to do with it. The sound is fine but I deleted all of the images except for the original Core 6000. The success rate on that one was much better. Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - fx6893 - 2014-04-03 Just downloaded this deck, looks great but I'm unable to find information on what data the following fields contain: 1. field:MasterIndex 2. field:Uindex 3. field:Level Can anyone inform me what the numbers/letters in those fields represent? Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - rantony420 - 2014-04-07 firstly i wanna say this deck and the supplement deck is awesome. just a few questions though. Firstly, when i review the cards I always find myself writing out all the new words i dont know from the example sentences just in case they are not in the decks. Most of the vocabulary have example sentences that seem useful and I would like to be able use so I happen to write the ones that seem useful from each vocab card. Now the problem is that it takes ages to review cards and since I have to take N2 in the summer for uni it doesnt seem efficient. I would like to review the cards but also actually be able to use the example sentences. So what would be the best way to accomplish this without spending ages review cards? Secondly, right now I am going through the kanzen master 1kyuu/2kyuu goi book (the old one) and unsuspending the cards from the both the main deck and supplement deck. However there are words that aren't in either deck (e.g. ごちゃごちゃ). So my question is where do the example sentences and definition used in the decks come from and how can I make my own cards with the same format and content as the decks? Thank you Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - Stansfield123 - 2014-04-07 I've never taken these tests, but from what I understand they don't involve any writing or even speaking? The best way to prepare for it, then, is to focus on recognition. Just use the sentence, written in Kanji, as the question, and the reading of that sentence as the answer. Don't forget to also listen to the native reading of the sentence, at the end, and check what the sentence actually means, if it's unclear. But, to pass the card, requiring that you read it should be sufficient (I guess you can click hard if you had to check the meaning at the end, but there's no need to fail it - the meaning will stick before the reading anyway, because sentences are much easier to understand than isolated vocab). I've been doing this for a couple of thousand cards now (not to prepare for a test, but to help me read more fluently), and it's been going very well. This is the fastest possible way to review material, if you look at time spent/Japanese word, rather than time spent/card. That's what counts, after all. Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - Dustin_Calgary - 2014-04-07 *edit* Found my problem Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - Dustin_Calgary - 2014-04-07 Btw, this deck kicks ass. Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - qwertyytrewq - 2014-04-07 In addition to the silly pictures, some of the example sentences (the long ones) are ridiculous, even the English sentence is at worst not understandable and at best, barely. I can't copy paste any examples of these word salad sentences but they're painfully hilarious and should be ignored. The reasonable length example sentences are fine though. Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - Stansfield123 - 2014-04-07 Please don't belittle other forum members. Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - Termy - 2014-04-09 A question. I'm a lower intermediate Japanese learner, with my own deck from Genki I, II and IAIJ, plus a recent vocab deck and an RTK deck (which I finished long ago but am still reviewing). I recently started with Japanese Core 2000 Step 1-10 also to have a more solid deck to go through (my own deck is a semi-failure and a mess). I'm currently done with step 2 there. Should I stop doing the remaining steps and just start with this deck instead? Is it the same thing or is the deck in this thread better structured or otherwise more awesome? Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - Dustin_Calgary - 2014-04-09 I took the deck, and sorted it by the core order, that way when I finish a step on the iknow platform, I can then just start reviewing those items in anki. If you go by the i+1 order, it will be in a different order than the core series presents the words in, so adding 100 items will be different than the ones you just did in iknow. Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - Termy - 2014-04-10 I see. The structure is what differs then? The words and audio are the same? (so I don't miss out on anything by sticking to these split core 2000 decks and then switch to the big deck in this thread). Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - cophnia61 - 2014-04-10 Someone could do an example with some common words found in Core 10k but not in Core 6k? Like four or five examples, if you could kindly do this, thank you! Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - Dustin_Calgary - 2014-04-10 Termy Wrote:I see. The structure is what differs then? The words and audio are the same? (so I don't miss out on anything by sticking to these split core 2000 decks and then switch to the big deck in this thread). The core deck as far as I am aware has the exact same sentences, images, audio as the iknow lists, at the time that it was changed from smart.fm to iknow.jp I am using the iknow platform, and then unsuspending cards in anki once I complete each step, and so far the material has been in the same order, once you sort by the core order. Only difference of course is that you don't use the iknow platform, and instead use the cards as they're made as far as what the question and answer side is. Personally I got rid of the production cards, removed the english from the recognition card fronts, and removed the "word only" audio ( sentence audio still remains ) and examples from the card back. Now when I quiz i see a japanese sentence and have to read it. When I flip the card over, I check to see if I accurately read the sentence out loud as far as readings go, and understand it. The images appear on the back as well. I used to do production cards as well, but it was taking me too long to write out ^^ Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - Termy - 2014-04-10 Thanks for the reply. I've been suspending cards manually when I've felt like they were too easy, but it seems like I'm mostly keeping the type of cards where you only hear the audio first (since that order of studying is what I've been lacking when going through my own deck from basic to intermediate), and secondly the ones where you see the Japanese sentence first. I guess I'll just suspend all the Core2k cards in the 10k deck when I'm done with those in the 2k deck, and then continue from there. Thanks again ^^ Core 10k - optimized i+1 version - Dustin_Calgary - 2014-04-11 I may well go and make a batch of cards that go listening to meaning as well. Easy to do with the facts already laid out, we will see how much my listening suffers ^^ |
