THE MOVIE METHOD - NW823 - 2013-08-08 I am interesting in trying the movie method but i am not sure how to start. I have been to the website (http://drmoviemethod.blogspot.com/) but the download for the files is no longer active. Is there any other way i can acquire these files. Any help in explaining how the method works, how to use the method effectively, and things to avoid would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Have you tried the search feature? THE MOVIE METHOD - NW823 - 2013-08-10 I hate to be a pain but, i have used the search function and have be looking like crazy for the posts you had mentioned but i cant find anything that actually tells me how the movie method is done. I have found some posts with random spreadsheets but i am not sure how they are use or if they are even the right ones. Can someone point me in the right direction? I would really appreciate it. Thank you. THE MOVIE METHOD - Xanpakuto - 2013-08-10 Idk if this is exactly the movie method but this is what I used to do. 1.Pick a nice drama, shouldn't be that hard 2.Go do d-addicts.com and look for both the English and Japanese subs (The download will be a .str format) 3. Download VLC, download the video via a torrent or do what I did. Luckily the series I'm watching is very popular on Youtube (Zettai Kareshi) unfortunately it has ENG hard subs so I had to put a black bar on that with iMovie, I'm sure you can do that rather easily. Anyway, I downloaded the YouTube video with the site Keepvid.com. Just copy and paste and you can download it. 4. Put the Japanese soft subs on the video and watch it. 5. I don't have a windows so I don't use SUB2SRS. Instead I use Audacity to cut out the sentences I want. I open the Japanese subtitles.srt in text edit so I can see all what their saying. After I get the audio clip, and I put that and the correct sentence with readings in Anki and just study them. 6. Take all the vocabulary I don't know and put it into Anki. 7. However I don't think I'm able to do this yet as the grammar is rather high level. I'm going to give myself a couple months till I try this again. Oh and btw this is for Dramas, I'm sure it's not so different from movies and anime Hope this helped THE MOVIE METHOD - Katsuo - 2013-08-11 Movie Method: Original thread on Kanji Koohii Author's Blog Download Files THE MOVIE METHOD - uisukii - 2013-08-11 ^ OP has already been given a link to the authors blog and has claimed to have used the search function and is not sure what to do with said files. THE MOVIE METHOD - Katsuo - 2013-08-11 uisukii Wrote:^ OP has already been given a link to the authors blog and has claimed to have used the search function and is not sure what to do with said files. The three links I gave above are important ones and I think it's convenient to have them all in the same post. Although the OP used the search function we do not know if they found the original thread. That thread can be hard to find because a topic search for "Movie Method" doesn't bring it up for some reason. OP is also unsure if the files found are the correct ones. The link in my post should enable them to verify that before proceeding. THE MOVIE METHOD - uisukii - 2013-08-11 Search: Quote:Keyword searchIt's great that people are willing to be as helpful as they are, but it really isn't hard to use the search function, with a bit of common sense. It would also stop multiple threads being made over the same already covered topic, etc. I mean, if a user is capable of creating an email address and creating an account for the forum, they really ought be expected to be able to utilize the search function. Most of the time it's just people being lazy and expecting others to do the research from them. |
