Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - cophnia61 - 2015-09-09 john555 Wrote:Hi, another question: is there a way of putting a check box on the back of each card so I can check the box if I want to "mark" the card? Thanks.I don't know if it can be done if you're using the browser preview... What about this: 1) you make a new filtered deck. It will show a window which asks you some settings; 2) on the "search" box you put something like this: Quote:deck:core10k is:newor Quote:note:Japanese is:newIn the first example your filtered deck will show you all the "new" cards which are contained in the deck "core10k". In the second example your filtered deck will show you all the "new" cards which use the note type "Japanese". 3) on the "Limit" box you will put "9999"; 4) on the "card selected by" menu, you will chose the order you want to see the card; 5) uncheck the "unscheduled" check-box, so you will turn-off the SRS part of Anki. In other words, after you study them, the card will still be "new" and you will have no reviews; 6) leave unchecked the "custom steps" check-box; 7) press "OK" and you will have your new filtered deck; Now the actual study process: 8) select the filtered deck and press the "rebuild" and then "study now"; 9a) you will see the first card. If you know it, you will press "@" on your keyboard. This way the known card will be suspended; 9b) if you don't know the card, you will simply press "good" or "easy". 10) after you finish with the deck, open the browser and write: Quote:-isthis way you will see only the cards which are not suspended (the ones you don't know and you need to review). --- Another alternative is to press "good" or "easy" when you know a card, and the * key of your keyword when you don't know a card. This way you will mark only the cards that you don't know. Then in the browser you will search: Quote:tag:markedand it will show you only the marked cards. If you want you can even do a second filtered deck to review only the cards you don't know (use "tag:marked" as a filter). With a combination of those filtering options you can do things like: suspend @ -> cards you know very well (browser filter "is uspended");press good -> cards you know but you'll still want to review someday (browser filter: "-is uspended -tag:marked");mark * -> cards you don't know and you need to review (browser filter: "tag:marked"); this way you have your personal SRS but you decide when you want to review and how much reviews to do ![]() Hope I was clear in my explanation ._. xD Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - sremvik - 2015-09-14 I was wondering if there's a way to make a filtered deck based on the ratio between lapses and correct answers on cards. I like to once in a while cram a deck with cards that have been difficult, and that's usually taking the cards with the most lapses. However, my deck is really old, and many of the cards that proved to be a problem in the beginning are not hard for me to recall anymore. So a filtered deck based on lapses/correct would be more useful. Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - yogert909 - 2015-09-14 As far as I know you cannot do any calculations in the search box, so you wouldn't be able to calculate the ratio. I would love Damien to add that capability though, as I've had the same idea. Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - Roketzu - 2015-09-18 Is there a way to make text display in the corners, like in the pic below? Anyone know how I would go about doing this?
Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - Roketzu - 2015-09-27 I found out you can use float: right / left commands to achieve what I was trying to do. I'm not sure why the picture disappeared from my post above. I have another question while I'm here, does anyone know if hitting the E key to edit a card while reviewing stops the timer so time spent editing won't skew the stats page? Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - purplesurge - 2015-09-28 I've tried to find an answer to this question elsewhere, but I can't seem to. Sorry if it's already been asked before! I'm using the Rikaisama app on Firefox, but whenever I add a card to my deck it seems to be added completely randomly. I added 5 a few minutes ago and they seem to have been added at super random intervals, with due labels like "84301" and "84302" rather than "24" and "25" like they should be. Does anyone know how to add them and have them show up sequentially? Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - yogert909 - 2015-09-28 AFIK the cards are added to the very end of your card queue for the entire collection(not just the deck). It sounds like you have 84301 unseen cards in your collection and it's just adding them after the last card. Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - purplesurge - 2015-09-28 Wow, really? That's kind of inconvenient because I do have a lot of decks that I use sporadically... Is there any way I can get around that (short of having to manually input each card or suspend all the unseen cards, which I'm not sure would even work)? Thanks for the help, by the way! Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - yogert909 - 2015-09-28 In practice you shouldn't even notice that the cards are going behind cards in a deck that you don't use. If the rikaisama cards are next in whichever deck you're adding them to, then you'll see them next. I guess you'd have problems if you have a bunch of unseen cards that you don't want to study in the rikaisama deck, but you could just suspend those. Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - Kuroro - 2015-10-10 I'm trying to create a card for the primitive ? but when I paste it in Anki I get a weird font (resembling the letter A in a half-blacked-out box and right next to it the same thing but reflected), I'm on OSX, does anybody know if there is a solution? Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - graeme - 2015-10-13 I've just started Anki to use with Pimsleur Japanese. I'm using this deck: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/90188268 I'm on day 48 with Pimsleur. I want to catch up to where I am with Anki, but, I don't want to create a large review burden down the road. 1. Is there a way to choose which lessons I do in Anki? I'd like to do "current day's lesson (e.g 49)" and also do the one before that, 48. So my schedule of new lessons would look like this: 49, 48 50, 47, 51, 46 52, 45 I'd eventually cover all the words from the early lessons that way, but my up front work would be memorizing the recent stuff to help with my daily audio lessons. 2. How many new cards can I do? The usual limit is 10. If I do two lessons I'll have 20. I don't have a good sense of how much of an unsustainable review burden I'll be creating if I do 20 or more cards. Thanks! Update: Figured it out 1. Click browse, and search the current deck 2. Select all cards. Hit suspend 3. Then every day, manually unsuspend the cards you want to work on You need to do these steps on computer. I've been working on the current lesson, backwards to the prior lesson, and then forwards from the easy lessons at the start. Review burden is starting to get large, so for a bit I'm just going to do current lesson + start lessons. But this is working well. I type the hiragana on my phone and do it on the computer. It's really helped my hiragana typing and pimsleur retention. RE: Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - Kuroro - 2015-11-20 Is there a way to see all the cards with the same front in your collection? Having used both shared decks and decks I made myself I think I have plenty of doubles and I'd like to get rid of them RE: Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - yogert909 - 2015-11-20 (2015-11-20, 4:50 am)Kuroro Wrote: Is there a way to see all the cards with the same front in your collection? I can have Japanese displayed or input in any other applications as it seems. someone has had similar issue? I use Mac Os 10.6. please stick with the issue just described. RE: Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - supermancampus - 2015-12-21 Hello Everyone, I currently have a Core6k deck with two types of cards:Recognition and Production. I've been doing production until now, but would like to switch to recognition. Is there a way I can create a new deck with only the recognition cards, but keeping all the optimizations the deck has for presenting new cards in a certain way? I had thought about importing the whole deck again, and then just suspending the production cards but I thought that might be overkill... Not sure if I understood what you said but might be looking for 'change deck' (http://ankisrs.net/docs/manual.html#toolbar) or 'deck override' (http://ankisrs.net/docs/manual.html#cards-and-templates). Or you could just reposition the recog cards. I don't get why you have to reimport btw. RE: Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - xtreme1 - 2015-12-26 Can someone explain the Intervals graph in a little more detail to me. The manual still confuses me but defines it as: Intervals This graph displays the number of cards that have a given interval (the delay between two reviews). The line and the right axis tell you what percentage of your cards have an interval of less than or equal to the time below that point. The time scope has a different effect on this graph than other graphs: rather than changing which cards or period of studying is included, it limits how far out the intervals are displayed to (so 14-month intervals are not displayed at all on a 1-year graph). RE: Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - Raulsen - 2015-12-28 So, I usually use Anki for iOS, but since I got one of the super cheap Kindle Fire tablets for Christmas, I decided to try out Ankidroid on it after sideloading the Google Play Store. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to make the text size any larger. On the iOS version, it's a simple matter of pushing up a slider, but even after pushing up the card zoom option in the settings, nothing changes. If it makes any difference, all my cards were created w/ Rikaisama's Anki option, but... I'm stumped. Completely. Hopelessly. Stumped. Any Ankidroid users here who might be able to help? The manual still confuses me but defines it as: I'm not sure what's confusing you about this.... ? Every time you pass a card, the time before you see it again gets longer. Every time you fail a card, the time before you see it again gets shorter. That's an 'interval'. So the intervals graph checks for every card in your deck, the time between when you last tested it and the time when it will next be scheduled for review, and put the result on a graph. I feel like I'm just repeating the definition, so if you're still confused please ask a more specific question. RE: Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - drigon - 2015-12-29 Hello! I'm currently doing core6k but I didn't realize there being a core10k. Once I finish 6k, I'd like to move on and do the rest of vocabs from 10k. Is there any decks with only the extra or is there any way I can remove the already reviewed ones? Is there a storage limit for AnkiWeb? - Verse - 2015-12-31 Recently I've been including a lot of different kinds of media per card. When I run into a new word while watching a show, often I'll cut a 5-30 second clip from the show, copy a few pictures from Google Images, and so forth. The result is that many of my Anki flashcards are 1-2+ MB. Just 1000 cards would put it easily over 1 GB. My question: Would I be able to continue syncing my deck to AnkiWeb even if it's like 2-3 GB? Or is there a size limit? Thanks. RE: Is there a storage limit for AnkiWeb? - Vempele - 2015-12-31 The Anki forums are over here. There's no mention of a limit in the terms and conditions, though. RE: Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - lateralchip - 2016-01-01 Hi wondering if someone can help me? I downloaded some decks from Anki awhile back - 'JLPT N3 Vocab', 'JLPT N2 Vocab' and 'JLPT N4 Vocab' - they were popular decks with many ratings, and I was hoping to download the N1 version, but now I can't find any of these decks on Anki. Does anyone know what happened to them or has a copy? Thank you! I'm assuming that the first 6000 cards of 10k are 6k, and I do think they are. Just select the first 6000 words and delete them, you could then move the cards to your main deck if you want. You'd have to make sure though that the order is correct, if you can't find a sorting index that would give you the first 6000 equivalent of 6k, you could sort them by the order in which they were created (usually works). Not sure though if you need the Advanced Browser plugin since I've always had it. |
