Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - Kabukicho - 2015-01-27 I am a total noob when it comes to anki. I have tried to read some of the tutorials regarding addons and such, but I really dont know what I am doing. In my own custom decks, I want to add stroke order diagrams to the kanji (similar to the RTK deck I have been using.) What is the best way to do this? I realize most of these diagrams only work for single character cards and not for cards with entire sentences. If anyone could explain to me step by step how to do this with my own custom decks, it would be greatly appreciated. Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - RandomQuotes - 2015-01-27 I like this font http://www.nihilist.org.uk/ for that purpose. Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - Kabukicho - 2015-01-27 How exactly to I go about using this font in Anki? This looks like exactly what I was looking for. Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - RandomQuotes - 2015-01-27 Something like this <div style='font-family: KanjiStrokeOrders; font-size: 150px;'>{{Kanji}}</div> in the cards section Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - Kabukicho - 2015-01-27 Thanks I got it to work. I really appreciate it RandomQuotes. ありがとうございます!! Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - Satom - 2015-01-27 Hi guys, how would I go about changing the background colour of cards with JLPT1 tag, and keeping the rest i.e. JLPT2-5 in a different colour? It's being very exhausting and I'm not sure I'm getting any result.Well the point of Anki is help you so that you are good enough to use native materials. Is just a crutch (probably closer to an automatic wheel chair haha) so nothing is wrong with quitting! What I'm moving towards is dropping my core6k deck and just using subs2srs on new movies series I watch. Ideally for each Japanese media I consume I want to 1) Watch the movie/tv show 2) Do the subs2srs deck made from the movie 3) Read the book (I'm currently doing this with "1 litre of tears" ) I find this works very well ! Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - cophnia61 - 2015-02-04 There is a way to add furigana to all the cards in the same deck in one go, without having to click to every single "Expression" and then "Reading" field? Is "Bulk-add reading" in Browser>Edit supposed to do this? Because if yes then I don't understand how to make it works :/ Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - David053090 - 2015-02-14 I have a ton of anki decks. I prefer decks like 10k that have audio implemented in them. Is it safe to delete my other decks that don't have audio in them as they seem to burn me out in context of they are just so boring and dru Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - Boomersgold - 2015-02-17 I've just started to use Anki, and haven't yet gotten used to all of the functions. The interface itself seems quite complicated. Here's my problem. I'm using a deck called "Master Hiragana, Audio, 3-way Notes" that will have on the front of the card either the Hiragana character, the pronounciation, the stroke order diagram or the romaji. When you select Show Answer, it will show all those notes (I assume they're called notes) on the back of the card all at once. Going into the card browser, I see that each Hiragana character in the 'sort field' column has three cards associated with it: 1) Reading, 2) Writing and 3) Listening. I wanted to make a custom/filtered deck with only the Gojuon characters and I wanted them to appear in a random order. To do this, I created a tagged each Gojuon character with 'Gojuon' and created a custom deck with all the tagged cards. The problem is, when I try to study this custom deck, the front card can be any of the notes (it could show the hiragana character, the romaji character, the stroke diagram or the pronounciation). I ONLY WANT IT TO ASK FOR THE HIRAGANA CHARACTER! Does anyone know how I can do this? I apologise for the long message, but I really suck at explaining things in word. A card is a presentation of that information, generated by one of the note type's card templates. Filter on "card:reading tag:Gojuon". Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - Nayr182 - 2015-02-27 Hi, I already know it is possible to link videos from youtube onto anki cards; but is it possible to link only certain segemnts of a video onto anki card? For example if I only wanted to play a 1:32 - 1:36 of a youtube clip, is that possible? They do a similar thing on fluentU, I was hoping to replicate a similar thing on my anki cards. Cheers, Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - vebaev - 2015-03-06 Something strange happened when I just finished 2000 card in 2k/6k, some learned words started coming as new and when I looked up in the browser I found this: (I never have the problem before reaching 2000?!)
Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - manman2a - 2015-03-06 I have an Anki problem. I have a sentence deck. Every 10 sentences revolve around 1 topic. Like ~は~だ concept would have 10 different sentences in different cards. I want Anki to test my "Concept" ability rather than "Sentence Ability". So today I clear a sentence(A) with a particular concept(X). The next day, anki tests me for the same concept(X), but a different sentence(B). Meanwhile, the other sentences(C,D,E,F....) are just eating dust, till the next time to review the concept(X) comes. Next would be concept(X) and sentence ©. This would loop when the series is finished. Is this possible? If you just want the start point, you can simply add "&t=1m30s" to the end of the url to skip to 1:30 in the video. For end point, it's a little more complex. You have to change the url to the API format like this: original: API format: https://www.youtube.com/v/_hYC-ukmlU0?start=90&end=120 Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - yogert909 - 2015-03-06 vebaev Wrote:Something strange happened when I just finished 2000 card in 2k/6k, some learned words started coming as new and when I looked up in the browser I found this:It looks like you just have some duplicate notes that didn't crop up until after 2k. You could approximate what you describe by having a different deck for each concept, but anki will still schedule reviews for whenever it wants you to review. IMO that's less than ideal. The best thing for you I believe would be to use reposition or reschedule to order your cards so that cards 1-10 are concept A and 11-20 are concept B. The first time you see the cards, it will be as you describe, but once you start getting reviews for concept B, C, D... they will tend to mix. It's really not that bad because presumably you will have learned concept A fairly well before you start hitting cards from concept B. Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - manman2a - 2015-03-07 Well I found one approximation way to do this. If the cards are related then I could just check the bury card option. Does anyone know how to make different cards related? I have 10 cards with a field "Grammatical Concept:XXX" and I want to make them all related. How to do this? Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - datrukup - 2015-03-07 Maybe I should make a separate thread for this but, how do you rate your responses? There are four possible ratings for a card, with rating 1 rescheduling the card for today. Are you more likely to rate cards as a 4 than a 3, or do you only rate cards 4 when you are getting annoyed with how often you see the card? So, to have 10 sibling cards for each concept, you would create a note for each concept with 10 sentences and 10 answers. Then create 10 card models, one for each question / answer pair. I only rate 2 if I am unlikely to remember the card on the normal spacing and yea, 4 only if it's annoyingly too easy. Anki's names for the buttons are 1:fail, 2:hard, 3:next, 4:easy. It is important to realize that 3 is the only button that preserves the card's ease value. 1 and 2 decrease the ease, so subsequent intervals are not increased as much. 4 increases the ease, so subsequent intervals are increased more than otherwise. Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - Dominic4774 - 2015-03-08 I haven't asked this up until now because I've thought there'd be no solution to this, but I really need this issue I've been having solved. My sleeping is extremely weird, and because of that the "Next day starts at " has been a recurring problem. What I mean by that is if I have it set to "23 hours after midnight" and I waked up really late in the day I only have until 10:00pm to do all of my Japanese before it resets and starts the new day. Eventually it will get to the point where I have to do 2 days worth of Japanese in one. Whenever I've started struggling to get all of my Japanese done, It's always started with having to do a double day because of this. I know this is a weird problem, but does anyone have a solution to this? The only thing I can think of would be pushing all the scheduling up a day, but that messes with the due timers. Anki Small Questions Thread - (NO Technical / Troubleshooting Posts) - EratiK - 2015-03-09 I suppose you're talking about new cards since I don't see this being problematic for reviews. What I did is double the amount of new cards set-limit, so I'd do my daily quota after midnight, and the next day if I felt like working before midnight I could. The bottomline is Anki can't force you do to too much new cards: once you've reached the number you want you stop and just review (there used to be an option like that). It's slightly harder to keep track of, but it works. |
