I thought that might be an interesting article for people doing RTK right now. It makes you think about what makes your brain place importance on a memory. The balance between front brain and hindbrain has echoes of the production/recognition debate that was revisited in Animosophy's thread. Enjoy.
Edit: Also, the golfers' perfect recollection of the features and wind etc on a course reminds me of kanji villages. I think someone linked an article here a couple months back about how scholars had to memorize whole tomes before books were widely available.

As soon as I saw the thread title, an instantaneous comparison to human memory stores and solid state hard drives. It's a damn good thing for generations of peoples now and in the future, having an increasing sizable cache memory in the form of internet search engines and electronic SRS.
